Aquarium and smores

A few miles away from our house is the downtown Houston aquarium. It is overpriced and under-fished, but we finally made a trip there with our good friends the Nuttalls.

Wheeler is a lover of all animals, and unfortunately has not yet learned a healthy fear/ respect for grabbing or kissing anything with fur or fins. Here he is going to town trying to grab the sting rays and baby sharks in the petting tank.
Olivia was not so eager. Neither was I.
But I did quite like the white tigers! My guess is as good as yours as to why there are tigers at an Aquarium...  but they were neat to see up so close.
Back at our place for hotdogs and smores. Props to the men who dusted off their scouting skills and only took 20 minutes and 3 failed attempts to get the fire going. :)

March Madness

We like basketball in our house. So when March comes along we brace ourselves for "the madness" along with the other college basketball fans. Obviously the indoctrination has started early with Wheeler. Here are some pics of Matt and Wheeler making a basketball key around his mini hoop in our living room.  I'm not sure who is more excited about it... Matt or Wheeler.

Go Longhorns!

brag blog

I feel like I am always bragging about Texas weather. Many of you who read this blog also live here in Texas or have sunny weather of your own, so maybe I should just get over my constant surprise that it isn't freezing cold October through April where we live, and just quietly appreciate that we get to do outdoor activities all year round.
Maybe bragging about weather on my blog is what I should lent this year...
One more for the road?
Hey mom, look what we did this week...

(And just so you see that we do use the snow boots and touqe you got for Wheels...)

Ski trip

Matt takes an annual trip to ski with his brother that lives in Park City. This year I'm not pregnant, nursing a newborn, or wacked out on fertility drugs so Wheeler and I tagged along!  We had an awesome time staying at my sister Jill's, skiing up at Park City, and the best surprise... grandparent party crashers the second night we were there! Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Checking out Temple Square

So excited to see Papa and Nana for a few days!

Climbing behind the couch, under the beds, tables and chairs after the poor kitty.

Children's Museum in Salt Lake.

And home again...
A big thanks to Jill, Steve, Ella, Grayden, Megan, Mom and Dad for such a great long weekend!

I just don't see it.

Every so often someone stops Matt and I on the street and comments about how much he looks like Tom Hanks. At first I thought it was funny, but now it is just annoying because I seriously do not see the resemblance at all! I have denied the possibility for years, then yesterday as we are watching T.V and a movie with Tom Hanks in it pops up... Wheeler points at the screen and says very purposefully "Da- Da!"
Apparently I am the only one who just doesn't see it.
