Springtime fun!

The last 2 weekends we have made fun day trips with our buddies the Nuttalls. We drove out to the country for the annual bluebonnet festival in Chappell Hill Texas. It has been really dry around here, so we were a little sad that there weren't any bluebonnets to take pictures in, but we ate plenty of fried food (the best of was a fried PBJ!) and enjoyed the small town Texas charm.

The following weekend we went out to our soon to be new neighborhood in Katy for their Easter Carnival.  It was such a cool event complete with a pony ride, petting zoo, egg hunt, tons of free food and a picture with the easter bunny. Way to go Suburbs! Wheeler and Olivia went especially nuts for the pony ride. Here are some pictures!

Wheels first time on a horse!

So excited to meet the Easter Bunny. We thought he would be nervous since Santa wasn't such a big hit... but he was all smiles.  Happy Easter everyone!

Away we go...

Get ready, get set... and away we go. The Swans are selling out and moving to the Suburbs! My in-laws have moved to Malaysia for 3 years, leaving their house out it Katy empty until they return. The pros and cons list is long in this decision... but at the end of the day cash is king and who can really pass up free rent? So our house that we love is on the market, and we are trying our best to keep it presentable for showings amidst the wake of Wheeler.
Here are some of the pictures the real estate broker took. Want to buy it?

*I have never gotten around to blogging about the amazing renovation Matt did on our master bathroom this winter. It went from foam green tile to so open and pretty. Good job dear!

Oh man I am getting sad looking through these pictures. It wasn't our first house in Texas, but felt like our first "home". We put so much sweat and work into it these past 3 years and have so many fond memories with family and friends. I am not good with change, but my logical head is over-riding my anxious stomach and sad heart on this move. Deep breath... away we go!

Feliz Cumpleanos to me!

My 30th birthday present was a week on the beach in Mexico! We planned and coordinated the trip with Matt's brother Darrell and Sara (who were celebrating their 10th anniversary) and their 3 kids... and oh my goodness what a great week! We stayed at puerto aventuras an all-inclusive resort 20km south of Playa Del Carmen. ( an hour south of Cancun for those who have never been to Mexico). It was a perfect family resort, without a ton of the spring break crazies, and we had delicious food, great weather and such fun company! Here are some of our pictures.
The Family
The cousins
The beach
The ocean
The pool
The Tulum ruins. (Matt and I took a half day trip to Tulum. It was an incredible tour and the beach was amazing with huge waves and a fun chance to swim without watching over a crazy busy toddler.)
The beach at Tulum
the token swimsuit photo. (every female scrutinizes her body in a swim suit... but I figure if I can't post a picture of my less than perfect body in a swimsuit at 30 it's never gonna happen. Cheers to lovehandles!
The never ending supply of frozen drinks.... (*We discovered the Miami Vice... which is the most delicious drink invented... a pina colada mixed with a strawberry daiquiri! )
the funny life size chess board

the sea breeze swings
The pretty sunsets and my two favorite men.
The perfect 30th birthday present.
